Outstanding column, Mark. During my time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, my longtime employer treated Brett Favre, and, to some extent, his family, like a sacred cow. People who really knew him, they knew otherwise. But I don't think any of us could have expected this. Whatever legacy he has, or had, is GONE. Great work by Anna Wolfe and Mississippi Today, a non-profit news agency kickin' ass and takin' names.
I'm an alum of Southern Miss and love my school. I've long admired Brett Favre's play (from his first starts in his freshman year). This is a sad saga for me. But I also deeply admire the work of Mississippi Today to cover each step of what I see as a federal case of theft involving two governors (a perpetrator and one who has impeded the investigation -- strictly my opinion). I've been reading it for months. It's Pulitzer-worthy work. But I fear the outcome of the story won't be satisfying to anyone,
Sometimes I forward your stuff to Meyer. He writes back and tells me about your superior writing. Oftentimes reminds me that you did not need to be edited! I write back and tell him that many of your valuable skills were acquired in Stoneville!!! (And, Reidsville!)😁

Mississippi Today is very good. It's a nice trend, seeing publications like that rushing in to do what newspapers used to. Thanks for your note.
Great read
And, I should have added (or led with): This is quite an excellent column!

Thanks for keeping my “Eyes Wide Open”.
Love reading your stuff!
A Stoneville girl!
I remember. Hope you're doing well.

That's right, I forgot you knew Meyer. He'll be stressing over Penn State vs. Auburn tomorrow.
What can I say to him that will make him think I actually know something about the rivalry? He’s my “go to person” when I have a sports question!
