Mr. Whicker you were my favorite writer while you were in Philadelphia. You haven’t lost your touch at all. I’m glad to have the pleasure of reading you again.

Thanks. Those were great days for me in Philly (1978-87). Rose, Erving, the Villanova team, Pelle Lindbergh, Vermeil, John Chaney...a very entertaining time.

Had to do a Google search. As someone who doesnt follow the gamr closely thought you were writing a parody with the name Iamaleva as in "I am a leaving!"

I'm appalled at Imaleava's ploy and have applauded Heupel. If the report that QB I was considering holding out during the playoffs last year because his contract called for only 12 or 13 games but not more, then I wouldn't have him on my team if he changed his name to Tom Brady. This situation is bad enough. Too much money already only begets craven desire for more. He has made enough to sustain him for life. He deserves a paycheck, but he also needs to honor commitments. He got paid for 4 years. Last I looked, he really only played one. Maybe he should refund UT for the other three years. That UT holds his NIL rights through December is sweet. BTW, Heupel coached Central Florida. One other thing: The QB at Grimsley HS in Greensboro, NC, signed with Tennessee before his junior season. He is one of the top-rated prospects. He won a state title while wearing UT decals on his helmet (do I hear payday?). His family sued the state to overturn a legislative big-foot that said HS players couldn't get NIL. Everyone laughed. The family won. Wonder about that deal! As rancid as QB I comes across in this, the whole structure of college football is just as smelly. I'm getting old.
